💭 The Problem We Lived
In 2016, I took a remote role managing a product team spread across San Francisco, Berlin, and Singapore. The first month was chaos. I scheduled meetings at "9 AM" without specifying timezones. I missed critical standups because I forgot about the 8-hour jump. I sent messages at midnight my colleagues' time.
After the third timezone mishap that cost us a deal, I started keeping a spreadsheet. Then a notepad. Then a mental checklist. Eventually, I built a simple tool to do the math for me.
That tool became GlobeTimeZone.
Why I Built This
I've been on both ends of the timezone gap. I've taken calls at 4 AM to accommodate Beijing colleagues. I've sent messages at midnight without realizing it was morning for my London team. I know what it's like to feel perpetually out of sync with your own colleagues.
That's why GlobeTimeZone is free, fast, and requires no signup. Nobody should need an account just to figure out what time it is somewhere else.
🎯 What We Believe
Speed Matters
No pages to load, no forms to fill. Get your answer in under 3 seconds.
Accuracy First
All times verified against IANA Time Zone Database, the global standard.
No Strings Attached
No account required. No cookies. No tracking. Your privacy is respected.
Global by Design
From Auckland to Reykjavik, we support 400+ cities and timezones.
✅ How We Stay Accurate
Time zones aren't static. Countries change their timezone rules. Daylight saving dates shift. Political decisions can move a country's offset overnight. This is why accuracy requires ongoing effort.
Our Accuracy Commitments
We update our timezone data whenever IANA releases new tzdata versions. For articles and guides, we review and update content before major DST transitions (March and October).
🚫 What We're NOT
- Not a tracking tool. We don't store your searches, your location, or your timezone preferences in a database.
- Not a calendar app. We're a conversion tool, not a scheduling solution. For scheduling, try our Meeting Scheduler.
- Not a news source. Our articles cover timezone knowledge, not current events.
- Not affiliated with any government. We use IANA data but are an independent project.
